Thursday 16th October 2016
this morning i woke early at around 4.30am as i wanted to try and catch Tandy to say good luck and also give her a message to go with the parcel for someone in the UK - but i think i missed her anyway, so will have to send an e mail she will get in the UK.
as soon as it was light Neill came through to call me as it was snowing softly with the famous Rocky Mountain powder snow and the ground was covered in a light blanket of white,
however while we were having breakfast the snow stopped and started to melt away and the sun was out for a while and now we have rain which we hope too will pass as we want to leave fro Durango mid tomorrow and stop somewhere overnight so we can get to Durango before the shops all close. Neill has to try and get a pair of Cowboy boots from Durango Boots that are famous for thos e type of boots !!
also that will take us throught Silverton which is the other end of the well known Durango and Silverton steam railroad as well as the base in Durango.
It will allow us to stop a bit along the way as we will have a bit more time, and there are some spectacular mountain passes at up to 11000 ft above sea level.
so today we are taking it easy and have to still try and get some cosmetics for Patricia and an anti dog barking agdget for the noisy dogs behind us at Kleinemonde !!
Other than that we will stay indoors as it is cool and raining at the moment,
i will try and add some photos.
