monday 3rd October

Monday 3rd October

West Yellowstone to Pocatello Idaho

I was sure I did post some photos and some detail about yesterday Sunday in West Yellowstone, but it is not showing here at the moment. this computer does play some games with me.

I think I had said that as it was raining, i was trying to get photos onto the blog and  Neill was doing the washing as luckily the laundry room was opp our hotel room, we bought some plastic hangers so the shirts and trousers could be hung once out of the drier, so all good for the next few days.
we looked around the town just having a general look at the shops etc, and had lunch as i said at a bookshop that had a coffee bar and could get a nice bagel with ham etc.
one intersting fact about Yellowstone was that 80% of it is still undiscovered, and the size about 3.2 million acres, and just for fun and to get an idea how big that was i Googled the Kruger park size which is nearly 5 million acres, and i just want to check the dates of the founding of both as they claim here that Yellowstone was the worlds first National park to be declkared I think in the early 1800's will check when i have time.
then in the late pm we went to the Imax to see the film on the bears following the life of a Mommy bear with 2 cubs for the first 2 years of her life, and realising how difficult it is, and they say that only 50% of the cums make it past the 2 year mark.
later when we went to look for supper which we had in a nice restaurant ( No Beer though) but was too late to change as we had ordered a roast turkey and fries/baked potato which was very nice.
there was gent sitting opposite the aisle to us and he seemed to be concentrating hard on his computer and cell, so as it was sunday i eventually asked him if he was working so hard on a sunday.
anyway it turned out he was a pshycologist and american who lives in Israel, and had been back to see family and do a two week stint on a ranch as a working cowhand. he looked the part as he had cowboy boots, shirt and hat.
He said he felt that he wanted to live in Israel although he had lived here in the USA for 20 odd years, and he was writing to the newspapers as it seemed he is in favour of Hillary Clinton and he feels that they are fabricating a lot of the stuff against her and that she is very careful, and re the e mails that she did off the Gov system was as they were nervous that at that time the gov servers were not as secure ?? he thinks she is protecting Obama.
Anyway it was interesting and we chatted about a number of things as he says he has a lot of work and that his sons girlfriend's Mom lives in SA.
we talked abouth my famous theory of putting books under your pillow and he agrees exactly with me that it is the fact that you are thinking about the subject that allows it to slip through the wave barrier into the sub concious which is sufficiently powerful that if you have been studying it will recall this info when you need it !!!

We the left for Pocatello this am after breakfast at about 10am  and traveled in heavy rain and some mist for a long part of the trip and we stopped at a town Rexburg just north of Idaho Falls, at around 12.30 at a Wendy's for a burger which was nice - it is quite difficult if traveling to get other types of food especially in the winter when the salads these days are good with nice dressing's.
One can get a chicken burger but it is not really that different, anyway burgers are also the most affordable.
we got to Pocatello around 3.30 pm and the last part of the trip was with higher and lighter cloud but no rain.
It took a little while to find the hotel which is opposite the University Of Idaho  and it looks very big and there seem to be a lot of facilties for students.
tonight we will maybe try and go to a Taco Bell just for a change, and tomorrow we will be with Anne & Bob and that will help.

Neill outside the hotel in West Yellowstone "The Brandin Iron" it was not too bad just cold at night and the aircon made such a noise i went to reception at about 11pm to get some blankets
above same - the hotle yard.parking and below the laundry opp the room
the money machine in the local Yellowstone supermarket

the road today and in parts thick mist so as a result not many pics today
an old 101 fighter of the USAF called the Voodoo
just a picture of the small Pocotello Airport where the wind was blowing hard and icy cold
our car which has been good and light on gas, a Mazda 6 auto
Harv taking a pic of the airport leaning against the wind temp without the wind around 45-50 F
we check with the rental guy where to put the car and drop off the key so we know where & what to do at 6am tomorrow.
